Are You A Network Marketer Looking To Start Online Marketing?  Here Are 3 Things You Need To Know...
Welcome to the wonderful world of online marketing!  

Congratulations on choosing to take this journey as it is the first step to becoming a professional in Network Marketing.

First, let me just say that I love "traditional" Network Marketing (warm-market, belly-to-belly).  I think it's the best place for someone who is brand-new in the profession to start.

But, the name of the game in this business is having a consistent flow of quality people to talk to and the reality is that we only know so many people and we can only reach so many people reaching out one by one.

The technology inside of online marketing exists to help you be more efficient and effective at getting your offer out to the masses.  

Here are the 3 things that every Network Marketer needs to know to succeed online...
1. HOW TO DEFINE YOUR PERFECT CUSTOMER
When you're just starting out in Network Marketing you think everyone is a perfect candidate for your products/services.

If this were true then everyone would be your customer, sorry!

The reality is that there are many potential customers out there, you just need to know where to find them. 

To do that you've got to do what I call "Target Market Research."

This means exactly what it says, we have to do some research to find out as much as we can about our perfect customer.

Here are my favorite tools to start doing some target market research...

Facebook Audience Insights
When it comes to online customer data, there's no better platform than Facebook.  They can tell you pretty much everything you need to know about your potential customers.  This is why online marketers LOVE advertising on Facebook!
Facebook Audience Insights for Network Marketers
Your first step in target market research is learning about the demographics (age, gender, etc.) and what your customers are interested in.

Facebook's Audience Insights is extremely helpful with this.  Simply enter a topic in the "interests" bar and start researching.

Answerthepublic.com is a great tool to see what questions your customers are searching for on Google.  Simply enter any topic in the search query and you'll get the results of the most common questions around that topic...

This is a great resource because not only can you see the main questions of your potential customers, but you can also see the top websites that appear in the search results.

Spend some time on these sites and look to see what kinds of information those sites are providing searchers.

You're also looking for comments on sites such as blogs.  Remember, you're doing research, trying to get into the mind of your potential perfect customer.
Amazon
Amazon is a great tool to see what your potential customers are saying about your competition.  This can give you great insight into what your customers want and don't want.
Amazon Customer Reviews
For example, do a search on Amazon for "Meal Replacement Shake" and then find a product that has thousands of reviews.  

Look at the 5-star reviews (to see what their customers like) and then look at the 1-star reviews (to see what their customers do not like).  

This is a great way to see what some of the pains and frustrations are of your potential customers and those pains and frustrations are important to note so that you can offer a solution down the road.

For instance, let's say one of the big frustrations of a customer in the meal replacement shake market hates the chalky taste of the shakes.  Perhaps your company offers a smooth, non-chalky shake. 

You could easily create a marketing campaign targeting people who love meal replacement shakes and you could focus on the smooth taste your product provides.

When it comes to succeeding with online marketing, knowing your customer is key.  The more research you can do the better.

Other great resources include:  Facebook Groups (listen to what people are saying), Facebook pages of your mainstream competition, Google (just do a search for your topic), ubersuggest.com (free insight into some of the keywords and online topics).  
2. HOW TO ATTRACT YOUR PERFECT CUSTOMER
Once you've done some target market research and you know a little about your customer, now you need to take that information and create something that's going to attract them to you.

In the marketing world, we call this a "Lead Magnet."

A lead magnet is nothing more than something you're offering to someone in exchange for them giving you their contact information.

You see examples of these every day. Here are just a few ideas...

-A Blog or Article
-A Free Masterclass (training video)
-A Free Report
-A Product Demo
-An Online Quiz
-An Online Survey

The idea is you're taking the research you've done and creating a lead magnet around it.

For example, let's say you have a weight-loss product that you know helps people with cravings.  You could create a free report that addresses that.  Something like, "3-Weight Loss Tips For Beating Your Night-Time Cravings."

You would then make one of your "tips" an upsell to your product.
Squeeze Page/Landing Page
An important part of creating an effective lead magnet (and an effective advertisement) is having a quality squeeze page (some call it a landing page).

The idea is that instead of driving traffic to a normal website with tons of buttons and links for people to click on and get lost, you send them to a page where all you are offering is the lead magnet - in exchange for them opting in.

Thankfully, this is where Networker Funnels comes in.  This is my expertise.  I've been building funnels since 2003 - before they were even called funnels.  

The key to building an effective squeeze page is keeping it simple yet professional.

You want to have colors that compliment your brand and each other.  

You want to have complimentary fonts.

Most importantly, you want to have copy (the words on the page) that appeal to the pains and frustrations of your target market.

Here's a screenshot of a lead magnet that I created for a client where he's targeting Personal Trainers with his Network Marketing nutritional product...

Personal Trainer Squeeze Page
The lead magnet here is free information.  In this case it's a "small business hack that could increase their business dramatically."

The idea is that the MLM product could help the Personal Trainer appeal to more customers.  This solves a major pain and frustration of Personal Trainers because there is a lot of competition in their business.

So the offer is that if they opt in (request information) they will get to learn what this is.

3. HOW TO PUT YOUR OFFER IN FRONT OF YOUR CUSTOMER
Now comes the fun part.  Now you get to take your target market research & lead magnet that appeals to that target market and you get to put it directly in front of your potential customers.

What I'm talking about is creating the advertisement!

My favorite platform to advertise on is Facebook & Instagram.  They are actually the same platform since Facebook owns IG.

I have also used Google Adwords for many years but Facebook/IG is my preferred method.

To make this work you're going to have a to have a general idea of how to run ads on Facebook.

If you were to ask me, "Ben, what's the most important thing I can do for my Network Marketing business."  My response would be, "Master online lead generation!"

Nothing has a bigger impact on your posture (attitude) than having a large list of people coming to you, requesting information.

When I first started in the profession of Network Marketing I hated trying to manipulate every conversation I had with people, trying to get them to see my opportunity.

Instead, I wanted people coming to me.  When I made the decision to master online marketing, everything changed.

Network Marketing became fun because no longer was I chasing people, instead they were coming to me.

This is the only way to effectively create consistency in your business (in my opinion).  You have to create a way to have leads coming to you daily.

Who has the time to go on Facebook and private message 30 to 50 people each day, blindly hoping they say they'll take a look?

Who would want to do that?  I know I wouldn't!
